Real impact stories

The work we do on the streets and through our training has had a real impact on people’s lives. Every situation is different, but the outcome we aim for is always the same—stability, safety, and a chance to move forward.

These are composite examples based on real situations we encounter regularly:

"Your team saved my life. I wouldn't be here without your quick action."

A grateful individual

"The support I received helped me find my way back to recovery and reconnect with my family."

A person now in recovery

"The dedication of The Truth Media Blackpool volunteers is truly inspiring. They make a real difference every single night."

A devoted volunteer

Overdose intervention on the streets

On more than one occasion, our outreach team has come across individuals who were unresponsive due to a suspected overdose.

Through immediate intervention and emergency response, we’ve been able to stabilise individuals, administer naloxone where needed, and remain with them until paramedics arrived. In these moments, quick action has been the difference between life and death.

Reconnection to services & recovery pathways

We regularly support individuals who are at different stages of addiction and recovery. Some of the people we’ve worked with were previously living on the streets, disconnected from services and support systems.

Through our consistent presence and non-judgmental approach, we build trust and help individuals navigate the complex pathways to recovery, housing, and healthcare. This often involves accompanying them to appointments, advocating on their behalf, and ensuring they have access to the resources they need to rebuild their lives.

Every life touched is a victory.
